Designers hold a unique position in product design – as a function their role is first to envision the strategic direction and then to accompany the product to its completion, observing the final result and adoption. This life cycle approach confers responsibility to design both for ecological sustainability and for social equity. It also underscores the importance for design leaders to drive a North Star that clearly shows the power of change and motivates teams to build it.
In this talk we’ll dive into the difference between vision, strategy and road map. We’ll look at frameworks that design leaders can use to build a design vision. And we’ll discuss how visions both align and motivate teams towards a common goal.
