Human After All: A Workshop on Designing Your Human Philosophy

Today, at some point, every designer has come to ask themselves the same question: in a world where AI can generate, iterate and optimize at scale, what is my role and where do I add value?

Over half a day, we will lean into this question by working together to explore what you uniquely bring to your craft. The instincts, the empathy, the judgment and the intention that no model can replicate. Not as an abstract exercise, but as something practical and personal that you can take back into the foundations of your work the very next day.

Through conversation, collaboration and a little courage, you will move from reflection to action.

Outcome
You will stress test your ideas with real people, refine them with your peers and contribute to something bigger than the room itself. Together, you will co-create a Human Design Manifesto that will be published as a zine and shared publicly as a collective output from the workshop. It will also be presented to the broader circle of UX Sofia attendees at the seminar day.

Who is this workshop for?
This is for designers who want to bring an intentional and distinct perspective to an ever-changing landscape by using the tools and methodologies already embedded in everyday practice.

Structure

  • OPEN: Icebreaker and we set the tone and the question. What does it mean to be human, and why does it matter that designers answer that question now?
  • DISCOVER: A facilitated roundtable. What do you bring that AI cannot replicate? We surface it together, without assumptions about what the answer should be.
  • DEFINE: Small groups synthesise the roundtable into a collective thesis. One or two principles per group, written clearly and with intention.
  • DEVELOP: Groups pressure-test their principles with fresh eyes. What holds? What needs to be sharper?
  • DELIVER: Groups share back their insights and principles are assembled into the Human Design Manifesto.
